Recently, Ford Motor Company announced a recall that may affect both law enforcement officials and others throughout the United States.<\/p>\n<p>Approximately 370,000 vehicles have been recalled in the United States and Canada. These vehicles include the Crown Victoria, Mercury Grand Marquis, and Lincoln Town Cars manufactured from 2005 until 2011. The defect is in the steering shaft and involves a corrosion potential which would cause a loss of steering. Although no injuries or accidents have been reported as a result of the automobile defect, it poses significant danger to drivers of these vehicles sold in select states. Although Georgia is not included in the list of states that these recalled vehicles were manufactured in, Georgians may be affected if their vehicles were purchased elsewhere. Police officers are often assigned these vehicles in their line of work, which could result in police officers being unable to steer their vehicles. This poses the threat of serious <a href=\"https:\/\/www.awjlaw.com\/faqs\/tips-to-avoid-pedestrian-automobile-crashes\/\">automobile crashes<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In other states, there have been reports of law enforcement officials losing control of their vehicles while in squad cars. This new recall solves the mystery behind these cases.
